Scope of Project

The Govt. of Himachal Pradesh is providing Computer labs to approximate 41 Govt. colleges of the State in two Phases. In the first phase, 26 colleges have been provided the labs. The work of which is nearing completion. In second phase, 15 colleges are proposed to be provided computer labs.

   
Status of Project

In the first phase, 26 colleges are being provided computer laboratories with estimated expenditure of Rs. 3,70,17,511/-.
According to the report received from HPSEDC, site preparation work completed in 25 colleges except GC Nurpur (Kangra) and installation has been completed in 23 colleges and one is in progress. Additional computers and infrastructure is also proposed for these colleges for an estimated value of Rs. 2,30,21,844/- in 1:50 PC-student ratio. Education Department has been asked to provide the information about availability of space for setting up of these labs.
In the second phase, an expenditure of Rs. 2,20,49,790/- is estimated for 1: 50 PC-student ratio.

   
Purpose of the Project

For imparting requisite IT skills to the students of various Government Degree /Post Graduate Colleges in the State. These computer labs are meant for Basic awareness of Computers to the students and for computer based assignments in scientific courses as well. These computers shall also be used for imparting BPO/ITES training. However, such specialized training can be imparted only after college hours.
