Status of HMIS

HMIS project is a state initiative to provide better health services to the Citizens of Himachal Pradesh. The scope of the project includes computerisation of the routine activities of the hospital. To keep track of patient record/ Medical history right from his registration to his discharge/ leaving the Hospital. The data base is also useful for doctors from the research point of view. IGMC is among the few health institution in the country where such system has been implemented.

Implemented in IGMC Following modules are fully implemented till date:OPD, IPD, Central Inquiry, Central Registration, Admission, Billing and Emergency .Other modules are also being customized/ implemented simultaneously. 3 Software engineers of CDAC Noida have been deputed in the IGMC along with 1 Network administrator for customization of the application. IT department has provided following infrastructure to IGMC for the implementation of the project till date:Server 2Nos., PCs 130 Nos., DMPs 67 Nos., UPSs, Laserjet Printer 15Nos., Oracle 10g DB 1No., Suse Linux OS 2Nos., Paramati Application Server 1No. and HMIS Software

HMIS would have following benefits for the citizens:Medical History of the patients would be maintained through this application which would help the doctors to treat the patients .Citizens are getting better services as the OPD slips are being issued at 9 counters as against the 3 counters previously.All the record related to the patient treatment/ diagnosis/ investigation etc would be fed in the systemVarious reports need by the HODs/ IGMC administration are being generated efficiently by this application now
