Scope of project

AGRISNET proposes to create an interactive interface for Government to Citizen (G2C) i.e for Farmers and Government to Government (G2G) services i.e. services for the Department of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries. The proposed system would maintain a database of information about various activities of the respective Departments. This database would be used to provide information and services to the users.

 
Status of project
  • Training of around 500 employees of 4 departments involved in AGRISNET project has been completed.

  • Hardware and system software has been supplied and installed in all 4 departments.

  • Software Requirement Specifications (SRS) and Request for proposal (RFP) have been prepared and tender was invited from ITSP empanelled companies on 5th June, 2008.

  • Bids were received from three companies i.e. Natural Technologies (P) Ltd., Samtech Infonet Ltd. and Technorite Consultants.

  • These companies are of A2 category and their limit is Rs. 25 lacs. Tender Committee has found that prices quoted for the project are higher than 25 lacs, therefore, it has proposed to reject the bids.

  • It has been recommended that a fresh tender may be called for software development which should be open to all the companies. For this purpose, technical bid is required to be prepared for assessing the technical qualification of the companies. Previous tender was done without technical document from amongst the already empanelled companies. Technical evaluation of these companies was done during empanelment.Final tender document is ready will be floated.

 
Benefits to the Citizens(G2C services)

It will bring farmers, researchers, scientists and administrators together by establishing Information online for Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, horticulture and Fisheries departments. The citizens can put their queries online along with the scanned photographs (if any) on the web and get the advice from the experts of concerned departments. Following modules are to be incorporated in proposed system: Information dissemination, Curbing diseases and maintaining general health, Supply of different items, Trainings and services, Expert advisory services, Market information and Application forms (pdf format)

 
G2G services Generation of database of respective departments and Exchange & disseminate information
